Now Amazon Lays Off 18,000 Of Its Comixology Staff

Amazon acquired Comixology in 2014. In February 2022, Amazon integrated Comixology into Kindle and now Amazon has laid off a major number of its staff in its digital comic book platform division Comixology.

This entire division has been laid off in three parts: with some leaving immediately, others in June, and another group that will stay until October.

The current economy is the key factor for this move, as previously stated by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and at present the company’s goal is to pursue “long-term opportunities with a stronger cost structure.”

McGovern confirmed that according to a note sent by Amazon’s retail CEO Doug Herrington, the layoffs are “part of a wider effort to lower [its] cost to serve.”

Pro Gaming Champ Oliver “Skiter” Lepko Did The Big Reveal On Twitter

Oliver “Skiter” Lepko tweeted a photo of his pee bottle during an ongoing DOTA 2 tournament. He only wished that the tournament organizers would tweak their rules and allow players to go to the toilet during a match.

This incident might seem funny on the surface, but the stakes are high as Eight European teams compete against each other from January 9 to 29 for a prize pool of $200,000 in DOTA 2.

He opted for this route to avoid the penalty and put his team at a disadvantage or wait out the 40 minutes of a standard DOTA 2 match.

Looks like esports tournaments are just as bad about letting people pee as Amazon is.
