Kristen Stewart to Star in Road Trip Comedy ‘Sacramento’ Alongside Michael Angarano and Michael Cera

Kristen Stewart, known for her role in “Spencer,” along with Michael Angarano from “This Is Us,” Michael Cera from “Juno,” and Maya Erskine from “Pen15,” are set to star in the upcoming road-trip comedy film “Sacramento.” The film will be directed by Angarano, who co-wrote the script with Chris Smith, and is scheduled to start shooting this spring.

The movie’s storyline follows the energetic and free-spirited Rickey, played by Angarano, and his long-time friend Glenn, played by Cera, who has settled into domestic life. On an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento, their past comes into focus, and their future is questioned.

Erskine is cast as Rickey’s wife, Tallie, while Stewart will play Glenn’s wife, Rosie. Other cast members include wrestler-turned-author and screenwriter AJ Mendez from “Blade Of The 47 Ronin,” Iman Karram from “Daft State,” and Rosalind Chao from “Mulan.” Mendez and Karam will play best friends and ex-professional fighters who help teach Rickey and Glenn about their own relationship.

Angarano stated, “We feel grateful and very excited to make a movie like Sacramento. Chris Smith and I started writing this film years ago, after a pilot of ours didn’t get picked up. We’re honored to be working with this wildly talented cast and crew led by Stephen at Bee-Hive who is not only a great partner, but a true collaborator. It’s already been quite a journey, but we’re finally ready to go make a movie.”

Angarano and Stewart previously starred together in the 2004 drama “Speak.” Angarano will next play Robert Serber in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and will also star in Kevin Costner’s Western “Horizon.” Stewart has recently finished production on the A24 thriller “Love Lies Bleeding,” while Cera currently stars opposite Amy Schumer in the Hulu series “Life & Beth” and will next be seen in Warner Bros’ “Barbie.”
