Intel CPU Price Jump by 20%, Would Soon Make PCs More Expensive in 2022

Chipmaker Intel is planning to increase the prices of its CPUs and chips this year owing to inflationary pressures causing surging costs for production and materials.

Nikkei Asia learned that Intel has informed customers it will raise prices on a majority of its microprocessors and peripheral chip products later this year. The new price list has not been announced yet, they are likely to range from a minimal single-digit increase to a 10% or 20% increase, depending on the chip.

In other words, now might be a good time to buy if you’re looking to purchase or build a PC.
