Nintendo Confirms Nonattendance at E3 2023

Nintendo has officially declared that it will not be participating in E3 2023. This confirmation follows rumors that both Sony and Nintendo would not be part of the event. In a statement to GameSpot, Nintendo clarified that it evaluates each event on a case-by-case basis and that this year’s E3 show did not fit into its plans, hence the decision not to participate. However, the company reiterated its continued support for the ESA and E3.

E3 2023 is being run by ReedPop, the same company that operates PAX, after the event faced difficulties in recent years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, E3 2020 was canceled, and E3 2021 was a digital-only event, while E3 2022 was also canceled. E3 2023 is scheduled to run from June 13-16, and although Nintendo has opted out, other companies like Ubisoft will be participating. Additionally, there will be other showcases, including Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest, and Microsoft will have its own presentation at the Los Angeles convention center, while Sony is also planning one ahead of E3.
